Fife Sports and Leisure Trust is bringing a Summer of Sport to communities across Fife in 2026 with the launch of its Summer Holiday Programme, running from 6th July to 18th August 2026, designed to inspire children and young people to get active, try something new, and make the most of the school holidays.
Launching as part of the region’s wider “Summer of Sport” campaign, the programme celebrates a huge year for sport, with events such as the FIFA World Cup 2026™ and Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games helping to inspire the next generation to get moving and discover activities they love.
Running across venues throughout Fife, the Summer Holiday Programme features a huge variety of sports coaching sessions, games, and affordable activities, including football, athletics, basketball, swimming, dance, gymnastics, racquet sports, Active Kidz Camps, Swimming Intensive Weeks, and more, all designed to help young people stay active, build confidence, learn new skills, and make lasting friendships in a fun and supportive environment.
The popular Quid-a-Kid initiative also returns this summer (6th July to 14th August 2026), helping families stay active during the school holidays. Juniors aged 17 and under can enjoy selected activities for just £1, including swimming, football, badminton, pickleball, tennis, table tennis, and squash, while participating adults can also access selected activities at discounted rates (subject to access and venue).
Cameron Kingsland, Participation Manager at Fife Sports and Leisure Trust said: “Our Summer Holiday Camps are all about giving children and young people the opportunity to stay active, have fun, and create lasting memories during the school holidays. Whether it’s football, swimming, dance, gymnastics, or multi-sport activities, there really is something for everyone this summer.”
Colin Glencorse, Head of Operations at Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, added: “Summer of Sport 2026 is about inspiring communities across Fife to get involved and get active. With such a huge year for sport globally, we’re excited to be working alongside partners including Fife Council, to help create more opportunities for children, young people, and families to access affordable activities within their local communities.”
Bookings for the 2026 Summer Holiday Programme will be available through participating venues, with spaces allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Early booking is recommended due to high demand across a number of activities.
Families are also being encouraged to keep an eye out for additional “Summer of Sport” activities, competitions, and events taking place across Fife throughout the summer months.
