Cowdenbeath now has its own banking hub, with services fully open in the new High Street location.
The banking hub, which is located at 92 High Street in the former TSB building (opposite Wee Jimmies pub), opened at 9am on Friday 25th July 2025.
The building now houses several banks under one roof, as well as an ATM, facilities to pay bills and pay in and receive cash. It will be open Monday to Friday from 9am til 5pm.
The town recently lost its last remaining permanent bank, with Bank of Scotland closing its offices earlier this month. But now Cash Access UK have completely refitted a long-empty former bank at the other end of the town centre, with a new entrance and a fresh approach to High Street banking for consumers and local businesses.
Several well-known banking brands will be represented by ‘Community Bankers’ on a rota basis, with banks sharing facilities at the new Banking Hub. The current schedule for Cowdenbeath will be:
Monday – Barclays
Tuesday – Virgin
Wednesday – TSB
Thursday – Royal Bank of Scotland
Friday – Bank of Scotland

This means customers with those specific accounts can pop in on the allocated day to speak to a representative of their own bank.
A counter service, operated by the Post Office, is available Monday to Friday to carry out regular cash transactions. These include withdrawing or depositing cash, depositing cheques, paying utility bills, checking balances or collecting change orders (for business customers).
An official opening of the new Hub with a ribbon-cutting by Melanie Ward MP is scheduled for 8th August.
