Fife Council have announced the design for the upgrade of play equipment at Cowdenbeath Public Park following a community consultation.

Just 170 people took part in the consultation, with suggestions and ideas adopted into the design according to the local authority.

Around £150,000 in being invested in the upgraded facilities, funded by the Scottish Government.

The new design will feature a flying fox zip line, climbing frames, an accessible roundabout, several new bouncers, activity boards, new safer surfacing and new swings. The existing toddler facilities will be retained.

Communities spokesperson, Cllr Linda Erskine (Lab) said:

“A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation to let us know what they would like to see in the new play area. The new equipment will be suitable and is accessible for everyone. I look forward to work starting later this year and the new play area opening, hopefully by Spring 2026, weather permitting.”

The consultation exercise took place in April 2025. What’s your views on the upgrade? Drop us a message or comment on our Facebook page!
