Residents in Cowdenbeath are being urged to check for updates as bin collection dates are changing for most Fifers from today.
The Fife Council bin calendar is available on the council website here: www.fife.gov.uk/bincalendar
Council waste services staff move to a single shift system, with collections taking place between 7am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Arrangements have been made to accept additional recycling alongside bins if the changeover means households had to wait longer than their usual collection date:
Blue bin – up to 2 bags of waste will be collected alongside the blue bin on the weeks 14 to 26 October.
Green bin – up to 2 bags of cans and plastics will be collected alongside the green bin on the weeks 14-26 October, or the first collection of your green bin after the changeover.
Grey bin – up to 2 bundles of paper and cardboard will be collected alongside the grey bin on the weeks 28 Oct to 8 Nov, or the first collection of your grey bin after the changeover date.
Sandy Anderson, Service Manager for Domestic Waste and Street Cleansing at Fife Council said: “Fife Council thanks local people for continuing to recycle as much as possible as the changes to bin collections are rolled out. If you need to wait a little longer than usual for one of your collections, we have some FAQs online to help you feal with any additional recycling or waste.”
“It’s also helpful if you can reduce the space your recycling takes up in your bin, so that you can fit more in – for example by scrunching, flattening, folding or tearing paper or cardboard and by flattening, squashing or squeezing your plastics, where possible.”
